Get out the Wok and be ready to eat in less than 30 minutes. Don’t have a wok, you can use a deep dished skillet.
Ingredients (2-4 servings)
1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast (or 2 small ones) cut into cubes
1 head of Broccoli, cleaned and flower heads cut from stalk
1 elephant clove of garlic (or 4 regular size garlic)
1/2 teaspoon of chopped ginger
1 bunch of green onions, chopped whites and greens
Seasame Oil
For the sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon plum sauce
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
6 tablespoons honey
6 tablespoon hot water
1 teaspoon red chili paste (if you like it hotter, add more red chili paste)
Preparation
Heat the wok on high and add the tablespoon of Sesame Oil
Add the chicken and brown on all sides, then remove to platter.
Place garlic in wok along with onion and ginger for 30 seconds.
Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce and hot water to bring to a boil.
Add the broccoli and cook a couple minutes. It will turn a darker green.
Add the chicken.
Stir and toss constantly until cooked through and liquid has thickened.
Serve on top of steamed rice. I like Basmati but Jasmine is also a good choice.
Enjoy!
